BASSOON ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
with Contrabassoon duties
Basic salary 2.681,30 € / month. The salary is increased by the experience allowance according to KVTES (The Municipal Collective Agreement) and the attire and musical instrument allowances. In addition, media compensation is paid. Trial period 6 months.

The application form should be completed with an up to date CV specifying, for example, the applicant's musical education and work history, especially in the field of symphony orchestras. The post requires excellent skills as a musician, good social and communication skills as well as relative skills in English.
Audition: Monday 31 August, 2020 starting at 1 pm (Finnish time) at the Kuopio Music Centre Concert Hall (address: Kuopionlahdenkatu 23, Kuopio, Finland). The persons chosen for the audition based on the applications will be informed by Friday 14 August, 2020 via eMail. The post will be filled according to a separate agreement.

The orchestra will provide an accompanist, however, use of own accompanist at the applicant's own expense is also possible.

The city of Kuopio, the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra
Kuopio Symphony Orchestra maintains the 110-year-old orchestra tradition as the largest professional symphony orchestra in Eastern Finland. The orchestra’s home is Kuopio Music Centre, one of the major concert and congress centre’s in Finland and widely acclaimed for its brilliant Concert Hall acoustics. Symphonic repertoire forms the main core of the orchestra’s programme, whereas other genres such as chamber and light music as well as different music education projects play an important role. The KSO has worked in close cooperation with Finnish music festivals, among others the Savonlinna Opera Festival. It has toured and given guest performances around Finland as well as abroad, in Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Japan and China. The orchestra has recorded for Warner Music / Finlandia Records and Octavia Records. The Chief Conductor of the KSO as of autumn 2018 is Jaakko Kuusisto, Atso Almila acts as the Second Conductor and Jorma Panula is the Conductor Laureate.
