We are excited to open a brand‑new international ECE center in Turku, and we are now looking for enthusiastic educators to join us from the very beginning.

As a new daycare, we are building fresh structures, creating our shared culture, and shaping an inspiring international environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. If you are passionate about early childhood education and eager to be part of something new, dynamic, and meaningful, we warmly invite you to join our journey.

As an Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Social Pedagogue, you work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting children’s holistic well-being, participation, and development of social skills within everyday pedagogical practices. Your work emphasizes close collaboration with families, early support, and a comprehensive understanding of each child’s growth and development.

In our daycare centre, every employee’s expertise is valued, and responsibilities are agreed upon together. We create a functional structure for team planning, evaluation, and development, and our pedagogical working culture is reflected in a shared commitment to agreed practices. This position is well suited for you if you wish to utilise your expertise, develop and create new ideas, and leave your own personal contribution to creating positive daily experiences for both children and colleagues.

As an ECEC Social Pedagogue, you play a key role in multidisciplinary collaboration, sharing your social-pedagogical expertise in joint planning and the development of practices. You work closely with your team, families, and other professionals to ensure the child’s best interests, timely support, and a well-functioning everyday life. Your team is supported by a special education teacher in early childhood education, the daycare centre director, and the assistant director, who are always available to offer guidance and support.

    Qualification requirements: Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) § 26 / § 27.

    The working language is English.

The selected candidate must provide the employer with an extract from the criminal records register as specified in section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act (Act on Checking the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children, 504/2002).

Competence in small-group pedagogy and understanding play as a working method is considered an advantage.

As employment benefits, the City of Turku offers, among others:
    - A wide range of training opportunities
    - Föli commuter card for discounted bus travel
    - TYKY wristband for access to the city’s sports and cultural services

To promote equality, the City of Turku uses anonymous recruitment. This means that in the first stage of the recruitment process, open‑ended application questions should not include information such as age, mother tongue, or gender. Although some background information is collected, these details are not shown to the recruiting manager in the anonymous applicant report. The purpose of anonymous recruitment is to focus attention on the applicant’s professional competence.
