Ressun lukio IB World School 001419 is looking for a full-time biology and ESS (Ecological systems and societies) teacher for preliminary class and IB DP classes for a fixed-term position.

Ressun lukio IB World School has the Diploma Programme and our students are 16-18 years old. Ressun lukio became an authorised IB school in 2002. Our IB DP graduates have succeeded well above the global average in their studies and have been admitted to universities throughout the world.

The IB Diploma programme is aimed at students who want an internationally-recognised diploma for their further studies and careers. They come from many different schools, both from Finland and abroad. The language of instruction is English.

Ressun lukio IB World School operates in renovated premises at Ruoholahdenkatu 23.

Formal qualification requirements:

Formal qualification requirements are determined according to Decree 1998/986. The teacher must have
- a master's degree
- pedagogical studies for teachers 60 ECTS credits
- 120 ECTS credits in one of the subjects taught (in biology or georgraphy/enviromental sciences)
- 60 ECTS credits in the other subjects taught (in biology or georgraphy/enviromental sciences).

Necessary qualifications must be reached by the end of the application period. If there are no formally qualified and suitable applicants for a fixed-term position, suitable to the position without the necessary formal qualifications will also be taken into account (Decree 1998/986, 23 §).

If you have completed your master's degree outside of Finland, you need a degree recognition decision from the Finnish National Agency for Education. This recognition must be reach by the end of the application period. Please attach the copy of the recognition decision as an attachment to the application form.

A person hired in a fixed-term position must submit an extract from the criminal record as referred to in the Act on Checking the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) (not necessary in the application process).

In addition, we regard the ability and experience to teach these IB DP subjects as an asset.
