Tampere is a fast-growing and developing city, known for its relaxed atmosphere, bold actions, and a can-do attitude. The city of the future is made together.

Are you an international student or a recent graduate? Are you interested in meaningful work that benefits the residents of the City of Tampere and supports your professional growth?

If so, why not apply to the City of Tampere Trainee programme! You will work with experts and develop the city with us. During your traineeship, you will make important contacts for your future and learn about the city as an employer. Through the Trainee programme, you can complete your university internship and get a good start to your career.

The Trainee Programme runs from 17 August to 18 December 2026. You will be paid for your traineeship. A University internship voucher is an advantage. We use a hybrid working model that allows flexible remote and on‑site work in many roles. The International Trainee Programme is targeted at international students or recent international graduates from Finnish universities.

The International Trainee programme is carried out in English. There will also be joint meetings together with the Finnish-language Trainee programme and you will be part of Finnish-speaking workplace community. You can use English in your daily work, while also having opportunities to practice your Finnish.

A Finnish discussion club is available for International Trainees to improve their Finnish during the traineeship.
