Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) is seeking a Senior Lecturer (ICT, Robotics) for a permanent, full-time position in the Degree Programme in Information and Communication Technology, Robotics, located at our Riihimäki campus.
Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) is seeking a Senior Lecturer (ICT, Robotics) starting August 1, 2026.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching and supervision within your area of expertise in ICT and applied robotics. Your duties include:
- planning, delivering and assessing courses
- developing the curriculum and learning environments together with the teaching team
- supervising student projects and theses
- collaborating with companies and participating in national and international projects
Teaching brings together software development, robotics and embedded systems, with particular attention to the applied use of machine learning in industrial automation and robotics. The focus is on helping students develop functioning solutions and understand how data, algorithms and physical systems interact in practice.
Teaching at the Riihimäki campus is supported by a Learning Factory, designed to reflect industrial workflows in a flexible and reconfigurable environment suitable for education. It is a curriculum-wide setting that supports learning from the first year onwards.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will contribute to the pedagogical use and further development of these learning environments in teaching, student projects and industry collaboration.
The position involves collaboration with regional and national companies, research partners and both national and international educational networks. You will contribute to strengthening cooperation between education and working life as well as to developing the local robotics and technology ecosystem.
You are expected to hold a relevant master’s degree (e.g. in ICT, robotics, automation or a closely related field). The following are considered an advantage:
- strong technical competence in ICT and/or robotics
- experience from industry, applied development or research projects
- interest in developing student-centred teaching and learning environments
- teaching experience in higher education, or readiness to develop as a teacher
In addition, Senior Lecturers are required to have three years of practical work experience (other than teaching) in a relevant field.
A doctoral degree and experience in research and development activities are considered an advantage but are not required.
We offer a position in a supportive and collaborative work community. The Degree Programme in ICT, Robotics is a young and developing programme, launched in 2024, with an annual intake of approximately 40 students. This provides a genuine opportunity to contribute to the development of the programme, its curriculum and learning environments from an early stage. The Riihimäki campus offers a compact and functional working environment with good transport connections.
The position is permanent and full-time. Salary is determined in accordance with the collective agreement for Universities of Applied Sciences (Sivista). The qualification requirements for a Senior Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences level in Finland are in accordance with decree 1129/2014 § 17. A Senior Lecturer is also required to have 60 credits or 35 study weeks of pedagogical studies. Notwithstanding this, a Senior Lecturer may be recruited on the condition that they complete the required pedagogical studies within three years from the start of their employment.
