During your traineeship, you will make important contacts for your future and learn about the city as an employer. Through the Trainee Programme, you can complete your university internship and get a good start to your career.
The Trainee programme runs from 17 August to 18 December 2026. You will be paid for your traineeship. A University internship voucher is an advantage. We use a hybrid working model that allows flexible remote and on‑site work in many roles. The International Trainee Programme is targeted at international students or recent international graduates from Finnish universities.
The International Trainee programme is carried out in English. There will also be joint meetings together with the Finnish-language Trainee programme and you will be part of Finnish-speaking workplace community. You can use English in your daily work, while also having opportunities to practice your Finnish.
A Finnish discussion club is available for International Trainees to improve their Finnish during the traineeship.
Ohjaamo Tampere one-stop guidance centre is a multi-disciplinary service for people under the age of 30. While Ohjaamo Tampere is part of Employment and Growth Services, the multi-disciplinary team consist of professionals from various organisations: employment services, social services, and healthcare services, in addition to weekly or monthly visitors from other organisations offering services for under 30-year-olds. Ohjaamo is focused in helping young people towards the working life, regardless of their current situation. Ohjaamo is open every weekday, no appointment is required, and the service is free of charge.
As a trainee, you will take part in various development tasks, such developing a feedback systems and statistics. You will get to know how Ohjaamo operates as well as the Employment and Growth Services, especially Multi-Disciplinary Employment Services, and participate in events and functions organised by Ohjaamo.
As Ohjaamo works closely with various organisations, it is important to understand if the collaboration is seen as beneficial and if there are ways to develop our work. As trainee you will develop and implement a feedback questionnaire for our collaborations.
Ohjaamo collects various statistics about and feedback from our customers, including the number of customers we’ve had during the year, general profiling of the customers (age, native language, etc.), and what type of things have they needed help with. The tool used for gathering the statistics is developed yearly. As a trainee, your task is to take part in the development of the statistics and feedback systems, for example related to what kind of things are presented on our report, and how to make the statistics process more automated and timelier.
Ohjaamo coordinates the City of Tampere Youth Guarantee projects (Nuorisotakuuhankkeet). These two-year projects are organised by third sector organisations and are partly funded by the City of Tampere. The goal is to help young people closer to working life through different types of services, such as groups, one-on-one guidance and events. Ohjaamo collects feedback from the participants through an online form. As a trainee, you will be a part of the development team for the Youth Guarantee projects and especially the feedback forms.
The job can include other tasks at Ohjaamo or Multi-Disciplinary Employment Services, such as helping develop the summer job campaign Kesäduunikampanja. More detailed job description is determined together with the selected Trainee depending on the experience and interests of the person recruited.
Good English skills are essential.
We require relevant higher education studies (minimum 180 ECTS) or graduation within the last two years
The trainee should have a satisfactory level of Finnish for everyday communication, but Finnish is not required for customer work.
Working with young people is an advantage, even if gained through studies or volunteering. We expect good basic digital skills, especially with Microsoft tools, as well as the ability to work in a project based environment. The trainee should be initiative taking, motivated to learn and able to progress given tasks independently.
