International Studies Teacher Position (Finland)

Primary duties of the position:
- Planning lessons for the International Studies courses
- Planning lessons for other English Immersion courses
- Project Management for incoming International Erasmus+ Projects
- Traveling and chaperoning students on International Erasmus+ Projects
In addition:
- Have the opportunity to work closely with other teachers in other subject areas
- The working language will be English, Finnish language skills are not necessary
- You will receive a monthly salary and the school will help to organize accommodation (at your expense) and general set up services in Kalajoki

Person Specification:
- Teaching experience is required. You will need to be able to plan and conduct classes and activities on a regular basis
- Genuinely enjoy working with young people, mainly ages between 16-18 years
- We are looking for someone who can help create the feeling of community between teachers and students
- Willing to work with colleagues when planning courses or projects
- Time flexible
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Someone who is familiar with Project Based Learning and is interested in teaching English Immersion based classes
- Exceptionally high level of written and verbal English is required
- Fluent in working with digital tools and new technology
- This is an ideal position for a recent graduate looking for some global experience

Qualification required according to the Degree to the Qualification Requirements for Teaching Staff 986/1998 or equal. Before starting the applicant should also show criminal record. See Act on Checking the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002)
